Why venues rebook me
A solo sax takes up the space of one bar stool. There's no band load-in, no soundcheck taking over your service, and no volume argument at 9pm. I turn up, set up in the corner you point at, and play two 40-minute sets.
Daytime, it's standards and easy jazz at conversation volume, the Sunday brunch job. Evening, it's house and disco over backing tracks and the room gets going.
I run a fortnightly residency at The Vernon Arms in Hanbury and have played Sunday jazz brunch at Côte in Worcester.
What you need to provide
- A corner of the room and a power socket.
- Wi-Fi helps but isn't required.
- I bring the PA, mics and all my own kit.
- Two 40-minute sets, timings to suit service.
